According to TMZ, Demi was taken from her Hollywood Hills home to the hospital before noon, and is currently being treated. Her condition is not yet known. In the past, the 25 year old has struggled with substance abuse, an eating disorder and mental illness. In 2011, she went to rehab to seek further treatment for bipolar disorder, bulimia, self-harm and addiction. She relapsed after leaving the facility, and then had to go to a sober living facility for a year.

After six years of sobriety from alcohol, cocaine and oxycontin, Lovato revealed in a song called Sober that she had fallen off the wagon. The lyrics of the song include, “Mama, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore / And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor. And I’m sorry for the fans I lost who watched me fall again / I wanna be a role model, but I’m only human.” At the end of the song, she said, “I’m sorry that I’m here again / I promise I’ll get help / It wasn’t my intention / I’m sorry to myself.

Before releasing Sober, she revealed at a concert in Brooklyn that her life had gone to the point where she was “drinking vodka out of a Sprite bottle at nine in the morning, throwing up in the car and I just remember thinking, ‘This is no longer cute. This is no longer fun. And I’m just like my dad.’ So I made changes in my life.’
