Princess Diana was the very first wife of Prince Charles. They were divorced in 1996, however, Diana stayed an object of attention and scrutiny from the media after departing Prince Charles. On 31 August 1997, she died in an auto accident in Paris, France. Regardless of the 21 years, it’s been to her passing, she remains a popular figure now and is adored and loved by fans worldwide.

In honor of this anniversary of her passing, here are a few lesser known facts about this Princess:

1. She took her kids to McDonald’s

Princess Diana gained fame for shooting her sons to McDonald’s, which she failed in an effort to provide them as normal a childhood as possible.

2. Prince Charles didn’t wish to wed her

3. She had an affair with James Hewitt

From 1986 until 1991, Diana had a connection with James Hewitt, a former cavalry officer. The few were really very serious about one another, and Hewitt even considered committing suicide following his affair with Diana ended.

After he was asked what he thought Charles would have felt about the affair, he explained,”He was probably thankful someone was searching for his wife”

4. She had been distantly related to Prince Charles

Diana and Prince Charles were distantly related to one another during King Henry VII, which made them 16th cousins. She was also associated with Winston Churchill and 10 US Presidents: George Washington, John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Calvin Coolidge, Millard Fillmore, Rutherford B. Hayes, Grover Cleveland, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and the two Bush presidents.

5. Her sister aged Prince Charles until she did

Charles outdated one of Diana’s older sisters until he got engaged. Lady Sarah McCorquodale outdated the Prince for 2 months in 1977. He met Diana during this courtship, and she was just 16 at the moment.

His sister said while they were dating,”Our connection is completely platonic. I think of him as the big brother I never had. I would not marry a guy I did not love if it was a dustman or the King of England.” She added,”When he asked me I’d turn him down.

6. She had a particular relationship with Mother Teresa

Diana met Mother Teresa many days, and also met her through the last months of her life, in New York in June 1997. On September 6, 1997, Mother Teresa also passed off, and her passing was eclipsed by information surrounding Diana’s funeral. Diana was buried using a pair of rosary beads awarded to Mother Teresa.

7. Her tomb is on an island

Diana is buried on an island on her family’s estate. The island is located in a decorative lake at Althorp Park. The website is surrounded by four black swans and 36 pine trees, one for each year of the life.

8. She educated Charles the way to tap dance

She educated that the Prince how to dance in 1977, and three decades later in 1980, they began going out.

9. She had been home-schooled throughout the start of her schooling

She had been homeschooled until age 9, then put into college after her parent’s divorce. She subsequently attended Riddlesworth Hall in Norfolk. At age 12, she had been delivered to a private boarding school known as the West Health School.

10. Her favorite dessert was bread and butter pudding

Her favorite dessert was bread and butter pudding. Her private chef, Darren McGrady stated that she entered the kitchen while he was cooking and snacked on it. The recipe for the favorite dessert is in McGrady’s publication, Eating Royally.

11. She performed in the Royal Opera House and Prince Charles didn’t enjoy it

At the beginning of her marriage to Charles, she rehearsed a regular together with dancer Wayne Sleep for weeks. Back in 1985, she attended the Royal Opera House along with her husband. She pretended to visit the bath, snuck backstage and wear a silver dress. She subsequently took to the stage to Do Uptown Girl by Billy Joel.

Wayne explained the crowd was thunderstruck, stating,”We’d eight curtain calls… 2000 individuals with a single gasp of breath collectively, Id’ never heard that before. They were in shock and they then realized that it was her. I said now you need to bow to the royal box and she said’I am not amenable to him, he is my husband! I said, well I must!

Andrew Morton associated in his publication Diana Her True Story that Prince Charles was really happy about Diana’s performance.

12. She had a key elderly brother

Earlier Diana was born on July 1, 1961, an elderly brother of hers was created on January 12, 1960. But, John Spencer died just ten hours after birth as a result of severe deformities. Diana frequently visited his tomb with her own brother, and said,”that I was the woman who had been presumed to become a boy.

Princess Diana could have been 57 years old now.
