In a new interview with the Times to promote her upcoming Greece-based reality TV show, Lohan opened up to Simon Mills about her perspective on the upsurge of reports of sexual harassment in Hollywood and all over the world in the last two years.

Lohan said she did not really have anything to say on the subject because she it was not something she had experienced fully herself, but she did add, “I’m going to really hate myself for saying this but I think by women speaking against all these things, it makes them look weak when they are very strong women.

She also said that she feels the environment of open conversation about sexual assault has brought forth many women who are not actually victims of any abuse at all. She explained, “You have these girls who come out, who don’t even know who they are, who do it for the attention.” According to research, only 2-6% of all reported cases of sexual assault in Europe and the US are found to be false.

She added, “If it happens at that moment, you discuss it at that moment. You make it a real thing by making it a police report.” Using herself as an example, she said that although she had never lived as a woman who had come forward with any sexual assault allegations, she had been involved in an ugly fight with an ex-fiance which eventually became physical. She said, “the best revenge is success.

In October 2017, Lohan took to Instagram to defend Harvey Weinstein in a since-deleted video. In the video, she said, “I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now. I don’t think it’s right what’s going on. I think Georgina [Chapman] needs to take a stand and be there for her husband.” She also added, “He’s never harmed me or did anything to me. We’ve done several movies together. I think everyone needs to stop; I think it’s wrong. So stand up.”
